So as you probably already know, the Mortal Intruments series is Turing into a TV show! Which is really exciting. I believe the exact date when the first episode is going to came out hasn't been announced, but what we co know is the CAST! Whohooooo, so that is what this post is going to be about.

At the moment, I like the old cast better, but I don't want to say too much about which one is better because I haven't seen the new one in action, acting or anything like that. But I'm sure they are going to be great. I'm really excited about the TV show, I really can't wait until it comes out!

~Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard book summary~

Hey guys! 

As I promised on my last post, here is a review of one of the most amazing books that has ever been written, Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard. 

Characters:

Mare Barrow- main character

Kilorn- Mare's best friend

Gisa (Gee)- Mare's sister

Shade, Bree, and Tramy- Mare's older brothers

Cal- the king's son, general over the Silver army located at the castle

Elara-u wife/queen

Maven- Elara's son

Lucas- assigned as Mare's guard

Julian- one of Mare's trainers and the former queen's brother

Evangeline- Cal's betrothed

Summary:

     Reds and Silvers.  The Reds are treated as slaves since they do not have the abilities the Silvers have. Silvers all have some sort of superhuman power: there are telkies (use telekinesis), nymphs (control water), strongarms (superhuman strength), swifts (amazingly fast), greenys (can bend nature to their will), etc.

    Mare and her family are Reds and live in one of the villages called the Stilts.  A few Reds are able to become apprentices for jobs that the Silvers see fit for them.  Mare's sister Gisa has been apprenticed as a silk maker for example, and her friend Kilorn is apprenticed as a fisherman.  For those who are not suitable to the tasks, they are sent to the war in a process called conscription after they turn 18. It is the Silver's war between each other battling for lands, but very few Silvers fight and instead the Reds are sent to the frontlines to die.

     When Kilorn's master (this is what they call the teachers who are training the apprentices for their specific career) dies in an accident, Kilorn informs Mare that he will be sent for conscription, and although she is scheduled to go as well, she feels the need to protect Kilorn.

    Mare is a master thief and decides to visit her friend Will who runs the local black market to get him to try to help smuggle Kilorn out of the city and go into hiding.  There Will introduces her to Farley, the head of the Scarlet Guard (rebels that are trying to start a war against the Silvers to demand equality), and Farley says she will help smuggle Kilorn in exchange for a huge payment.           Mare knows the only way she can come up with that much money at once is to steal from the Silvers and asks for Gisa's help.  When Mare can't find an opening to steal, Gisa tries to do it for her but is caught and her hand is crushed, meaning she will not be able to apprentice sewing anymore.

     Distraught but refusing to give up, Mare goes to the local tavern to pickpocket people there and is caught by a boy named Cal when she tries to steal from him.  He begins talking to her asking her why she's stealing and something about him and the stressful day she has had makes her break down and tell him about everything that's happened.  He walks her home and gives her the money he has on him.

     The next day a guard knocks on the Barrow's door and says that Mare is to come with them.  She is taken to the king's castle and put to work as a servant there.  She finds out it was Cal's doing to help her escape conscription when she sees that he is actually the son of the king.

     Mare learns an event called Queenstrial is going on, which is the event the Silvers have where the young girls compete with their abilities to earn the right to marry the prince.  The queen has a son named Maven (Cal's half brother due to the fact that Cal's mother, the former queen, is dead), so there will actually be two marriages.

     Mare is serving at the Queenstrial when she falls off the balcony of the arena where the contestants are showing their skills and lands on the electrical shield which is blocking the Silver's in the stands from the abilities being used below.

    Mare expects to die, but instead absorbs the electricity into her body and falls unharmed.  The Silver girl currently in the arena (Evangeline, the girl who ends up being pledged to marry Cal) uses her magnetic ability to try to kill Mare but Mare throws her hands up and ends up shooting lightning from her fingertips.  She knows she is about to be killed so she runs but is captured.

     The Silvers are in a frenzy knowing that a Red has the same powers they do, so in order to mask it, the king tells Mare that she will wed Maven, and her backstory is that she always believed she was Red, having been raised by Reds, but it turns out that she is one of the fallen Silver general's daughters.

     His angle is that he thinks she will be able to bridge the gap between the Reds and the Silvers and make speeches to help stop the war the Scarlet Guard has started, by showing that Silvers are kind to Reds, knowing she has been raised as one.

     Mare begins training with the other Silvers to control her powers, including Maven and Cal, and ends up growing close to them both.  Cal shows her how to sneak out of the castle to see her family one last time since she never got to say goodbye before she was taken. She tells them the whole story and they are understanding, but Kilorn vows to join the Scarlet Guard and stop what Mare is being forced into.  Mare learns at this time that Shade has been killed in the war and she joins the Scarlet Guard herself along with Maven, who wants change also.

     They help Farley plan an attack on a few of the Silvers who have hands in the war during a ball that is planned.  The key targets are killed but a bomb also explodes killing many others.  Farley and Kilorn are captured and are tortured to try to get information out of them.  Maven and Mare must stand aside and act like they know nothing, but Mare enlists Julian's help since he can control minds and they use this against the guards to help the prisoners escape without anyone being the wiser.

    Before Julian runs, knowing Elara will find out he helped due to the abilities used, he tells Mare that she is neither Red nor Silver but stronger than both, and he has been researching her DNA and came up with many others just like her, Shade having been one of them.  Mare realizes this is why he had been killed in the war.

    Before Mare will help them escape she asks Farley about the bomb as it was only supposed to be a few targets, and after Farley swears she doesn't know about any bomb, Mare finds out it wasn't a bomb at all but a gas leak that ignited while Cal was using his fire powers to try to capture the prisoners.

    After the Scarlet Guard attack which now has the Silvers on edge, Farley manages to meet back up with Mare and Maven and they take the Undertrain (which I picture as a subway) to the irradiated part of the country.  It turns out it isn't plagued by radiation at all and this is where the Scarlet Guard along with any Reds seeking refuge have built a city.  They have tech that makes the place still seem like it has radiation to the Silver's radiation detection machines.

       At their meeting with Farley, Mare gives her the names Julian had written down and tells her they could build an army that could win the war, but Farley says they do not have enough time for that, since the Silver's are retaliating harshly after the attack by imposing curfews, killing any Reds who step out of line at all, and offering freedom from conscription for information leading to the arrest of the Scarlet Guard. She says there are a lot of Reds who will help, but even more who would turn them in to save their sons and daughters from conscription.

     Maven says that they could hit the Silver's at their heart by sneaking into the castle and forcing the king to surrender, since he is the heart of the war anyways.  If he falls, the war ends.  Farley and Mare state that there's no way they would get past all the guards, but Maven knows Cal is in love with Mare (as he is also), and says that if it were between Cal's crown or saving Mare (knowing that if the plan fails she'll be seen as a rebel and be executed), Cal would always choose Mare and convince his army to step away and not attack the Guard.

     They all sneak up through the tunnels under the city and blow up the bridge leading to the castle.  When the Silver guards run in, Cal included, Mare tells him that he should choose to make a new world, a better world, and choose her.

     She is acting like she loves him, and although a part of her despises him for the way he believes the war needs to continue in order to avoid the fall of both races (and he's sure the Silvers are in the right), there is a part that also remembers how kind he's been to her and the way he's shown her he loves her, and she realizes her words are not totally false.

     The plan goes awry when he does not listen to her though and instead puts two and two together, realizing she is with the Guard and is partly responsible for all the deaths at the ball and the other attacks on the Silvers.

     Maven, the Guard, and Mare run to escape but are captured and taken before the king.  Elara wants to save her son, so she uses her mind control powers to disable the king and Cal.  Mare has hope that they will be saved even though Elara has always treated her like trash.

     Elara forces Cal to kill the king, his father, as Mare and Maven watch.  When Mare looks over at Maven, she sees that he is smiling and realizes this was his and his mother's plan the whole time and he has used her and the Guard from the beginning.  Now he will be king since Cal will be seen as a king killer and executed, and Elara will still serve by his side, while Cal and Mare will be executed for treason.  We learn that Maven made Julian has already been killed since they knew too much.

   The arena for Silvers who have commited treason is called the Circle of Bones, and Maven tells Cal and Mare this is where they will meet their end.

     When they arrive, Lucas is there and is executed in front of them before they are sent into the arena to fight barehanded against some of the best recruits with Arven watching.  He is their former battle trainer who apparently is in cahoots with Elara.  He can diminish recruits abilities and he does this to Mare so that she can't use her electricity against the foes, including Evangeline with her magnetic abilities and her brother Ptolemus.  They evade the warriors as long as they can, with Cal telling Mare to stay behind him and he'll try to protect her.

     Mare tricks one of the fighters into throwing a spear at her while she's in front of Arven and she steps out of the way at the last second, causing Arven to be killed by the spear.  Her abilities return and she begins fighting with Cal.  In the meantime, Maven has had the arena spectators evacuated "for their safety", but really because he is still trying to cover up the fact that Mare is Red but has abilities.

   After defeating all the warriors (Evangeline ran when she saw they were losing), Maven sends in the guards to kill them, but a storm has been brewing and Mare uses her ability to control the lightning and destroy the arena to try to buy them time to escape.  Maven tells the guards to shoot them and Mare knows it's over, but when she hears gunfire she realizes it's coming from the chasm in the arena that held the water for the nymph warrior to fight them with and she sees the guards fall.  Hands grab her and Cal and pull them into the chasm and the water below.

    Mare wakes on an Undertrain headed for the Scarlet Guard's city to find that Shade is alive and on the train with them.  He reveals that he has a teleportation ability and that's why the Silvers have not been able to kill him even though they've tried.  He tells her that their parents and brothers are waiting for them at the Scarlet Guard city. Cal is tied up and although Mare tries to convince Farley to let him go, stating that he saved her life in the Circle of Bones, Farley says she won't ever trust another Silver.  Mare and Cal exchange looks and Mare realizes that although he could burn the chains on his wrists at any time and escape he chooses not to, and Mare knows it's because they BOTH have unfinished business with Maven and want to find the others like Mare to take him down.

Top 3 books by Melina Marchetta!

Hello book Lovers! 

I've just finished reading Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard... and it was amazing! I recomend it to any YA reader. I will post a review about it soon, so keep an eye on that, it will probably be my first post of May.

So, let's get on with Melina Marchetta. 

Melina Marchetta is a great author. She has written 3 of my fovourite books, which are Looking for Alibrandi! , The Piper's Son! and Saving Francesca! They are three breathtaking books. They are all based in Australia and in Australian life, so if you read them and something sounds weird, it's probably because Aussies are awesomely weird, by the way, I do live in Australia; I'm not just saying that because I think so. 

Looking for Alibrandi is my favourite book in the world. It is about a girl that lives with her mum and really across the street from her Grandmother. She has to spend lot of time with her granny because her Italian backround kind of makes her have to be close to her family... And because she doesn't know who her dad is, she is really close her mum and tries her best to be nice to her grandmother. She tries really hard, but it's difficult when she keeps blaming her poor single mother for everything. 

She falls I love with an Australian boy, they really like each other, but the rest of the Italian women don't accept the fact that she is dating an Australian boy instead of an Italian one. When the Italian ladies start talking about her behind her back, she hears rumors, like: "it's all her mothers fault, she is a single mother." "I'm sure the father wasn't Italian either" ... And so on, so the father thing get into her mind, she starts asking questions about him to her mother, but she doesn't get many answers. After a lot of time looking for her father, she finally finds out he lives in Sydney. But, during all the time she has been obsessed with finding her dad, she hasn't realised that she has been drifting away from her boyfriend. 

What is she going to do? Look for her father? Wait until her m gives her more information about her dad? Should she stay with her Australian lover? Why does her granny always judge her own daughter?  

There are so many question to be solved, and you can find the answer by reading this amazing book. 

Saving Francesca is so amazing! "Saving Francesca" is the story of sixteen-year-old Francesca Spinelli's coming-of-age during a time when her mother, previously the rock of her life, is bedridden with depression. As her family falls apart around her, Francesca falls in love with an unattainable boy, makes new friends, and learns to appreciate what truly makes her unique. 

The novel opens with the sorrowful line, "This morning, my mother didn't get out of bed". Francesca Spinelli is used to her mother's ridiculous antics waking her up in the morning, used to her mother's controlling presence in her life, used to her mother's seemingly unattainable expectations for Francesca to live as an individual at all times. Now, her mother is like a ghost, completely bedridden and practically unresponsive to the world around her. Recently, Francesca's mother transferred Francesca from St. Stella Academy to St. Sebastian's - which used to be an all boys' school - for tenth grade. At this new school, there are thirty girls to seven hundred and fifty boys. For many teenage girls, this sounds like a dream come true, but for Francesca, it's a nightmare. She misses her old friends and is forced to hangout with nerdy girls who transferred from her old school with her. As a result, Francesca feels isolated at school and wishes things in her life were different. 

One of the major problems in Francesca's life is the fact that girls are treated so differently in school than boys, so some of the ex-Stella girls create a list of demands and nominate Francesca to deliver their request to the house head, a no-nonsense twelfth-year named William Trombol. Even though William is gruff and sometimes rude, Francesca slowly realizes that she's falling in love with Will, and she believes Will might have feelings for her, too. At a party one weekend, Will locks eyes with Francesca from across the room, makes a beeline toward her, and kisses her hard on the mouth. They spend the rest of the party making-out, so Francesca feels blindsided when, the next day, she learns that Will has a girlfriend. Faced with a broken heart and a mother too depressed to get out of bed, Francesca feels as if she's falling apart. Slowly, she begins to bond with her fellow ex-Stella girls and forms friendships stronger than she ever could have imagined. These three girls, Siobhan, Tina, and Justine, never question Francesca's swinging moods: they love her unconditionally, which is more than Francesca can say about her previous best friends, who abandon her in her time of need. 

As the novel progresses and Francesca's mother goes from bad to worse, she is forced to lean on her new friends for strength in both her familial and social lives. She learns that being "cool" isn't the most important thing for a teenager - being surrounded by those who love and support you is. As Francesca comes out of her shell, embracing extracurricular activities like dancing and singing in the school musical, she learns to love herself and to surround herself with friends who love her for her she is, not what she represents. The more Francesca heals, the more attractive she becomes to Will Trombol, who soon breaks up with his girlfriend (although he doesn't want to date Francesca right away). Francesca learns that healing is not an overnight experience, for herself or for her mother, but when given the space to truly be themselves, both characters express the strength and determination to survive. 

The Piper's son is such an amazing book. It's kind of like a prologue of Saving Francesca becuase it has the same characters, and it is what happens after school, but Thomas is the main character instead of Fran. Even though he went to Francesca's school and they had the same friends becuase they were in the same frienship group, Thomas' life is very different and a bit more difficult. After high school, everything gets harder, Tom somehow they end up alone and  has to work out what he has to do with his life without anyone there to support him. 
This is a short summary:
 Thomas Mackee wants oblivion. Wants to forget parents who leave and friends he used to care about and a string of one-night stands, and favourite uncles being blown to smithereens on their way to work on the other side of the world. But when his flatmates turn him out of the house, Tom moves in with his single, pregnant aunt, Georgie. And starts working at the Union pub with his former friends. And winds up living with his grieving father again. And remembers how he abandoned Tara Finke two years ago, after his uncle’s death. And in a year when everything’s broken, Tom realises that his family and friends need him to help put the pieces back together as much as he needs them.


I encourage everyone to read this three amazing books because they will blow you mind! They such great books, all three of them amazingly written by Melina  Marchetta, my favourite author, and have incredible story lines. 

A Booktiful Life

Hello Booklovers!

During the holidays I´ve read a few books such as the Fallen series, Throne of Glass, Osiris, Where She Went and a few others. They were all amazing and I really loved reading them; but I´ve read this one book that everyone was talking to me about, the book is called Alienated, and it was mind-blowing. I wouldn´t be surprised if you have heard about it, because it is so, so, good. 

This amazing book is about a girl, Cara, from Earth, and a boy, Aelyx, from L´eihrs, a planet that has just become "friends" with Earth. Earth and L'eihrs have made a deal, the deal is that 3 students from their planet would travel to Earth for a year and then the students from planet Earth who have been looking after the intergalactic students would go to their planet. It sounded like a great idea to the Government at first, but then all of the people that lived around the area in which Cara's house was, which was where Aelyx is staying for the year, started a club, against the aliens. Unfurtunatelly, it became really popular and a lot of people joined it. Their purpose was to kick the aliens out of their planet because they thought they are evil and were planning something behind their backs; because if you think about it, Why would a planet that is way more developed than Earth want to have anything to do with them? 

HALO, the club against the aliens, became more aggresive and the others students from Cara and Aelyx´s school keep treating them badly. Aelyx didn´t know what to do about all of this, plus he felt guilty because Cara was giving up all of her friends, who were trurning against her, becuase of him. Cara keeps standing up for him even though everyone gives her a hard time.

Even though, Aelyx didn´t really like it on Earth and was trying his best to go back home, he soon found a reason for him to stay, Cara.

So! I won´t give you any more because this is a spoiler free blog... most of the time. But, as you can see, this book has an amazing story line, the characters are so, so, so well developed. Infact, one of my favourite things about this book is how the author, Melissa Landers, describes their feeling towards each other throughout the book and how they change as time goes by and they get to no eachother better. Another one of my favourite thing about this book is that it´s a sci-fi  book!! That means the author can do anything with it, and she does, she twists, turns and changes the world and finds another prespective to look at aliens. She writes about a planet that has just started contacting Earth and has decided to exchange students. And, am I the only one that thinks that that is really cool and that you need a lot of imagination to imagine and write that? Because, yes, I am aware that a lot of authors have written about different galaxies, aliens, planet Earth and all that kind of stuff, but I had never heard of a book that talks about a planet such as L´eihrs. Because in this planet, the aliens aren´t green and with big eyes, infact they look just like humans, or nearly. There are only a few differences between the human race and theirs, they might seem insignificant, but when you read the book, you find out what a big difference a small difference between them can make. Some of their anormalities are that they are smarter, more developed, talk to eachother telepathically, they rather spend time in dark or/and grey places and full of nature, they don´t like the food from Earth, and so on. 

My favourite quotes are:

1.“He prepared the richest, most indulgent and disgusting dish imaginable - a bowl of fudge ripple ice-cream topped with chocolate syrup, semi-sweet chocolate morsels, chocolate sprinkles, and, for good measure, a chocolate brownie from the pantry. He even garnished it with a handful of M&M's.

 "Look what I made for you. A bowl of diabetes.” 

2. “It's common knowledge that shiny rocks are preferred among human females.”

3. “Can I borrow the car today, Mom? We'll get soaked if we walk-"

"Hmph," Dad interrupted. "When I was a boy-"

"Yeah, yeah," Cara interrupted back. "You walked to school naked in the snow or something. So can I?” 

4. “I don't like the way he looks at you."

"How does he look at me?"

"Like he wants to dock his ship inside your spaceport."

"You've cracked.” 

5. “To be honest, I don't know what qualities you ever saw in him. I can tell why he chose you, but-"

"Oh yeah?" Cara's spirits lifted as she sensed a compliment coming on. "Why do you think he chose me?"

"It's obvious." He swept a hand to indicate her loose curls. "Your long, shiny hair, healthy skin, and bright eyes show that you're well-nourished."

"Uh, thank you?"

"I'm not finished."

"Go on then."

"You're clearly intelligent." Then he felt the need to add, "For a human."

"Gee. That's so sweet."

"But Eric was probably most attracted to your wait-to-hip ratio." For a split second, Aelyx resembled a human boy as he leaned back and peered at her caboose. "Hips of that width are likely to pass life offspring without complication." 

Cara nearly swallowed her own tongue. She didn't have big hips did she?” 

 My very favourite one is:

Right. Until your BFF went out of her mind and after your ex-boyfriend's body.”  

I hope you read this book, becuase it is an amazing book and defenitely worth the read!

Best Book Front Covers

Best Book Front Covers

       Looking through my book shelf I've realised how many cool book front covers there are out there. Authors put so much effort into making their book perfect and most of them just smash it by having an amazing front cover on the book. Infact, once I bought a book just bacause I loved the front cover, it wasn´t actually a great book after all, but the picture on the front of the book, made me open it and read every single word in it. It´s just that when the front cover is good, the feeling that you HAVE to read the book grows inside you. And that is exactly what happened to me that day. So I´m going to list my 5 favourite book front covers!

1. Shatter Mevseries by Tahereh Mafi

    

    I think I´ve fallen inlove with this front covers, I don´t know if that is even possible, but I love them so much. I think the reason why is because I love eyes, just anything that has eyes in it, drawings, pictures or... front covers!!! Eyes mixed with nature, plants, snow, flowers; its just like the whole pretty part of this world has been drawn together into one amazing image. 

    If this front covers make you feel the same way they made me fell when i saw the, the felling that you had to read them, well, this is a short summary:

I'm more than human

My touch is lethal

My touch is power

I am their weapon

I will fight back

Juliette hasn’t touched anyone in exactly 264 days.

       The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliette’s touch is fatal. As long as she doesn’t hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don’t fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.

      The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war – and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she’s exactly what they need right now.

   Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior.

2. Starters by Lissa Price

I haven't read this book yet, but I am really looking forward to it because I have heard so many good comments about it. But most of all, I want to read it because the front cover is just AmAzInG! When I saw it at the book shop is was just like "that is a good book. That looks good" . So I bought it and it is at the top of my bookshelf waiting for me to read it. I like the front cover so much because of 3 main thing I think, because it's mainly white and that is my favourite colour so, I just like it, because it's different to other front covers, for example, the girls face is close up and you can see that the eyes are two different colors, blue and orange and the last thing is because in the backround, there is some kind of electricity circuit or something like that... Which makes me think that the story is going to have to do with the future in some way. 

I haven't read the book, but this is what I found out from my research: the story is about a a girl that has everything taken away from her, her family, her home, everything, all she has left is herself, but not long after, that only thing thing she had left, her body, is also taken away from she and it is used for murder, but she keeps fighting to get it back. 

3. Divergent series  by Veronica Roth

Most people like the front cover with Theo James and Shailene Woodly (the actors that play the main characters in the movie); but I personaly like the copies with the plain black backround and a symbol in the middle. There are four differrent symbols, if you include the one form Four, the book in which we see some part of the story from the boy's/lover's point of view. In Divergent (the first book) the symbol is a flame, it represents the Dauntless, the faction that she chooses to be in. In Insurgent (the second book) the symbolis a tree, which represents Amity, the faction that's helps them (Tris and Four) hide away from Erudite because they are trying to find them and also helps stop the war. And in the last book, Alligent, the symbol is a snowflake in the shape of a flower, I haven't hear of an actual meaning for that, but I think if it a the snowflake representing the bad and cold times that the characters have to go though along the story and the flower representing, the good times they spent together and the "happy" ending. As I said, there is also a book called Four, and the symbol for that is a circle of sparkles.... I don't know why and I haven't figured it out yet, sorry.

   I don't know what it is about this two front covers, but I just love them so much. I guess that the dress that the girl is wearing in Teardrop is just amazing, the way, it starts by being a dress and then turn into water is just so cool. I also think that the colous where chosen very wisely, the blue and purple in the backround combines really well with the silver from the title and itlooks great. Everything about this book is amazing, starting from the front cover, all the way to the story line, this book is defenitely in my top 10 and I really encourage you to read it!

5. Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard


                    

When i show this book to my friends or my family, they all say that the front cover looks too plain, or they say that the crown upside down with the blood looks weird or creepy. To be honest, there is not much more to this front cover other than that, but that is why I think it is such a great front cover. Because it shows that the story is going to be that kind of story in which the characters have a hard time moving on from the past, finding themselves, like the front cover, nothing is complete clear and everything seems comfusing. It is probably a kind of book that most people who don't like murder or blood would try to avoid, but once you open it, it is actually an amazing YA book that everyone could and SHOULD read because it is just so, so, so good. 

In case you are interested, this is the summary:

In the world where Mare Barrow has been living at, there were two types of people. Red blooded and Silver blooded. While the Silvers were all about the ‘betters’ ―really, better clothes, better foods, better wealth, better life― and powers, Reds were the description of poverty and desperation. All Silvers were gifted with superhuman abilities thus they were the ones who got to rule the whole country. Reds had no abilities and were born to serve the Silvers. 

Mare was Red. She spent her life living in Stilts, a poor village inhabited by Reds. Unlike her sister who actually had a skill that brought her to work on Summerton to Silvers, Mare was a pack of trouble. She had no skills, only those of stealing. She sure was not proud of that but really, she had nothing else that she could actually do. Just like the rest of Reds who didn’t have jobs, Mare would be sent to the war. It was unnerving even for Mare who practically had no fears toward anything.

How to get over a book hangover

Hello book Lovers!
This post is going to be about how to get over the worst feeling in the world, the feeling that makes you feel empty and depressed, this feeling is called.. BOOK HANGOVER! For all of you who don't know what I'm talking about, a book hangover doesn't mean that you drank too much alcohol while reading so when you wake up you have a hangover. A book hangover is when you have just finished a book, the book that you finished was great.... But after this amazing book, you can't start a new book, you just don't feel like reading anymore. This usully happens when you completely forget to think about what you were going to read next. So you are there, sitting on the side of your bed, looking at the wall, looking at the bookshelf and you start wondering what you are going to do with your life now that you don't feel like reading. Are going to just watch the vampire diaries or any other TV show for the rest of your time alive? Are ever going to read again? Is this it? Are you done with reading all the amazing book that are out there?

So, I'm now going to tell you how to avoid that,or if you have already been caught, these are some ways to get over it... i hope al least one works, they all halped me.

1.  Go to your public library or book shop. What I'm trying to say is that, what you have to do is surround yourself with books. Sometimes, just having them around you, make you feel "connected" to them in some kind of way. Just reading the titles of the books, reading the authors´name, small things like that really can help. Because, sometimes,while you are walking around you suddenly see an amazing front cover, then you walk toward it, almost as if it was pulling you towards it. Then, you pick thebook up, and that´s it, you turn the first page and you are pulled back into the amazing world of reading.



2. If that doesnt work with you, something else thing you can do is find a book that is really cheesy, short  and nice and with romance if you like that kind of stuff. They are really great when it comes to getting you back into reading. Normally it´s because they are easy to read, sometimes you can relate to the story, or you fall inlove with the boy in the book and you need to keep reading to find out what happens to him in the end... for example: Anna and the french kiss, Lola and the boy next door and Isla and the happily ever after.



3. That doesn´t work for you. I get it, i´m not that kind of girl who likes reading  either, and if you are a boy, I get why option 2 wouldn´t work with you either.  So, the 3rd thing you can do is find a short book from your book list that you have always wanted to read but never had a chance to actually do it; if you have a hard copy of it, put on the front of your bookshelf, your bedside table, anywhere that you will be able to look at it often. If you dont have a copy of the book, screenshot the front cover and set it as your backround photo. the more you look and see the book you want to read, the more you will want to read it, until one day, you will finally turn the first page!

Love, Rosie···Book and Movie

Hey Guys!

         I´ve thought of doing something new and not just book reviews. So this post is going to be about the book and movie Love, Rosie. It is a romance story, but apart from that there is also a lot of parts that teach mainly teenager girls  what they should and shouldn´t do. For example, one of the things that changes Rosie´s life is going to the ball with wrong boy. That might sound ridiculous, but it really does turn her life upside down, so the massage behind that is: don´t just go to the ball with any random guy, go with someone who you really do want to go with to the most important even in your whole teenage life with some weird boy who you might not even know that well. 

   

        I am aware that that whole paragraph didn´t make any sense to anyone who hasn´t read the book or watched the movie, so this is the summary that will hopefully clear your mind:

   Rosie and Alex have been best friends since they were 5, so they couldn't possibly fall inlove with each other... but maybe they do. They are the worst two people in the world when it come to making the right choice and choosing their lovelife. One awkward moment when they were 18, one missed opportunity... and life sends them in different directions. Rosie has to stay at home looking after her new born baby instead of going to university with Alex. And Alex has to move away to study in America.

   Somehow, across time and two different continents, the tie that binds them cannot be undone.They might find their way back to one another, but it might be too late.

Movie

   So now going to movie. I thought the two main actors were just amazing; I mean Lily Collins and Sam Claffin!!! Wow, they are like the two best actors in the world and then when they put them together they were just great. Lily did an amazing job acting as Rosie, Sam as Alex was just OMG he is gorgeous he was perfect! I though Will Poulter would have been a great Greg, but that is just my opinion. I don´t know what to say, it was so much like the book, but all I can really tell you is to go watch the movie if you are interested in any kind of teenager stuff.
